About Elizabeth Sloas

Elizabeth Sloas (1999, AR, United States) graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a BFA in painting and a minor in art history. Sloas is a painter whose work is inspired by history, storytelling, and emotion. Her paintings often explore expressive themes and characters, with each piece carefully prepared and layered to capture depth and meaning. Sloas is an emerging artist and states that the highlight of her career thus far was her time spent in Galway, Ireland at the Watershed Studios Artist Residency program. Sloas now lives and works in AR as a local artist and hopes to delve even deeper into her artistic practice as she begins her creative career.

I think my summer in Ireland will forever be my magnum opus. This was such an important time in my life. The obvious goal of an art residency is the make art and delve into your practice, but it was more than that for me.
When I got selected, I had no idea how I was gonna get there, how I was gonna afford it, or if I was even emotionally ready to travel to a foreign country alone.
But I took it as a challenge, my anxious ass was going to make it there and make cool things.
And I am so glad I did... ❤️
